About the OneTeamGov Canada Pattern Library

Description

The pattern library represents collective efforts by public servants across Canada to translate aspirations in the digital standards into practical, reusable policy tools to help teams succeed. We are particularly interested in these types of tools to help accelerate the work of digital government teams:

  • Governance and accountability tools, for example role accountability matrices, digital governance charters and terms of reference, governance planning and reporting templates
  • Service and user-centred design tools, such as user research consent and compensation forms, service review checklists, service standards templates
  • Procurement and contracting tools, such as sample procurement and contracting clauses, vendor assessment checklists
  • Talent, culture and capability tools, for example job descriptions for common digital jobs, career pathways, learning and development, change management and digital adoption tools
  • Metrics, evaluation and continuous improvement tools, including dashboard templates, service review frameworks, impact assessment toolkits and user feedback templates

Submitting a pattern?

Our curation criteria is as follows:

  • Relevance - Does the pattern reinforce at least one of Canada's digital standards and address a recurring policy problem faced by digital government teams in Canada? Would it solve a problem across multiple jurisdictions?
  • Application - Is the pattern currently being used by at least one order of government in Caanda? Are there lessons learned?
  • Ownership / Stewardship - Is the pattern being actively maintained by a team in a Canadian government (federal, provincial, territorial, regional or municipal?)
  • Licence - Is the pattern available for reuse using an open source licence?
